Taoyuan International Airport and Smart Industry Field Collaboration Experimental Pilot Project



I. Taoyuan International Airport Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the Company), in order to develop the business philosophy of "smart airport", promote innovative business models, enhance industrial localization, and expand domestic and international smart technology exchanges in Taoyuan Airport Park (hereinafter referred to as the Airport) as well as to promote the development of the transportation technology industry, has expressly implemented the “Taoyuan International Airport and Smart Industry Field Collaboration Experimental Pilot Project” (hereinafter referred to as the Project).

II. This Project is drafted and promoted based on the White Paper on Transportation Technology Industry Policy proposed by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications in March 2020; The organizer is the Smart Airport Project Office of the General Management Office of the Company (hereinafter referred to as the Project Office).

III. The objective of this Project is to apply innovative and smart technology to the airport in areas approved by the Company as experimental fields so as to achieve the following goals:

(1) Through the mechanism of accepting proposals from applying units, matching, and conducting field verification, proof of concept for smart airport-related applications will be carried out at the Airport.

(2) The Company can choose to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the applying unit for free as a reference for subsequent business model development and model experience output.

(3) Public and private resources will be integrated to jointly promote the construction and operation of the Airport, so that smart services can be successfully implemented in the Airport.

IV. Regarding method of execution of the Project, after the Project Office accepts the proposal made by the applying unit, the innovation, feasibility, effectiveness, and legality of the proposal content will be reviewed, and experts in related fields will be invited to jointly conduct review when necessary. The qualifications of apply units are as follows: Companies, legal persons, institutions, organizations, etc. that have been approved to establish or register in accordance with the law, as well as public and private colleges or research institutions in Taiwan.

V. The proposal scope under this Project includes applying innovative smart technologies to the airport area. Application service domains include but are not limited to 5G, Internet of Things, biometrics, unmanned vehicles, robots, AR/VR, AI artificial intelligence, digital twin, passenger innovative experience and O2O new retail, smart transportation, smart energy saving, smart customs clearance, electronic services, smart disaster prevention and environmental monitoring, and other application services related to airport operations recognized by the Company.

VI. For matters not stipulated in the above project provisions, the Company may make supplements or amendments at any time.
