Big data accelerates transformation FOS receives national patent
Since 2005, TIAC has been planning to integrate the interface systems of flight, air traffic control, and airport facilities. Through long-term big data analysis and adjustment of parameters, the system, FOS, has been designed according to the actual needs and the field management mechanism and received two national patent certifications: "Utility Model Patent" and "Invention Patent". By linking the data of Civil Aeronautics Administration, airlines and TIAC, FOS provides real-time information to the aviation management staff and dramatically improves the efficiency of airside management.
For example, before the epidemic, the average number of flights landing and taking off at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TTIA) was over 700 per day; during the peak of New Year and after the typhoon, the number was nearly 850. In response to the increase in the number of flights, the aviation management staff have to enhance the turnover to maintain operations of arrival and departure. With FOS, they can make pre-scheduling the day before, and in case of irregularities or special flights, adjustments can be made quickly through the graphical interface.
Building a core of smart airport A-CDM system enhances efficiency
There are more than 320 departments from government and enterprise stationed in TTIA, and the database linkage is a major challenge. Therefore, since 2016, TIAC has been promoting the establishment of the "A-CDM". The latest version of the system was completed in April of this year. It breaks down the flight from arrival to departure into 16 milestones and presents the progress of each stage through a real-time and transparent data exchange platform so that all units can accurately track each stage of the flight and make the right decision efficiently.
For example, if A-CDM system receives a message of delayed departure, TIAC and airlines can notify passengers of the delayed boarding to reduce waiting time; ground handling companies can also adjust resource allocation and if operations are completed, flights can takeoff or taxi early. Through the system of A-CDM, it will reduce the time aircrafts spend waiting on the ground or circling in the air, as well as avoid long waits for passengers and improve service quality.
In response to the parking demand for airlines, TIAC offers all units with real-time and accurate information by introducing intelligent management and following the principle of total volume control. TIAC will continue to ensure the smooth operation in a safe and orderly manner and provide better service to passengers.
